Strata Logistics

Investing in driver training is a strategic move that pays off through enhanced safety, efficiency, compliance, cost savings, customer satisfaction, environmental sustainability, and employee retention. For logistics operators, it’s not just an option but a critical component of successful and sustainable operations.

This past weekend, 16 Strata Logistics drivers were put through a stringent Defensive Driving training session and assessment.

Kobus Hanekom, from KSM Driving conducted the intense training. Kobus is a well-known and respected transporter who turned into a trainer and is now servicing transporters in the road freight industry on a national level.
“Weve been working with Strata for many years and do annual training to renew their drivers certificates each year. This is all sponsored by Hollard Trucking Insurance.” The training started with a 2 hour classroom session on Defensive Driving where drivers discuss the ABCs of Defensive Driving. Defensive driving is the practice of maintaining an awareness of road and weather conditions, other vehicles, road users and potentially hazardous situations and then taking steps to prevent becoming the cause of or becoming involved in a road crash.
Drivers are then put to the test and have a full on-road assessment to assess their competency. The findings are then summarise into a report and a copy is sent to the insurance house.

Congratulations to Tichaona Mahwana for achieving top results on the day.

“We can most definitely see the positive results and feedback from the drivers. From an employer perspective we will try and focus on the areas of concern and improve the quality even further. “says Strata Logistics Operations Manager, Andre De Villiers.

Another two groups of drivers will undergo the test in the coming weeks.

Strata Logistics – we may not be perfect, but we are pretty darn good!
